Staff exchange between iMM-Curie (2017/06)
From June 18-23 of 2017, Inês Gomes, from Luís Costa Lab (iMM) made "ReTuBi Staff Exchange" to Marina Glukhova Lab (Institut Curie) to get new expertise in protocols for the isolation of mammary epithelial cells and the mammosphere assay serving to study the clonogenic potential of various mammary cell populations.
ReTuBi Lecture - Katie Bentley
On June 6 of 2017, Katie Bentley, from the Harvard Medical School (USA) was the invited speaker as an expert visit for the "ReTuBi Lecture" with the talk “Modelling endothelial cell behaviour in pathological angiogenesis”.
SINAL 2017 - 8th Meeting on Signal Transduction
The SINAL 2017 - 8th Meeting on Signal Transduction was held from June 1-2, 2017 at Pavilhão do Conhecimento, Lisbon. With circa 100 participants and 11 renown speakers, this meeting was focused on the following scientific topics:
- Cancer Cell Signaling
- Normal and aberrant signaling in the immune system
- Membrane Dynamics and Intracellular Signaling
- Spotlight on non-mammalian organisms
ReTuBi Summer School 2017
The ReTuBi Summer School was held from May 29 to 31, 2017 at the Oceanário de Lisboa and it was dedicated to the following scientific topics:
- Genetics and Epigenetics of Cancer
- Stem Cells and Cancer
- Cancer Microenvironment
- Cancer Metabolism
It also includes sessions with a FOCUS ON:
- Clinical trials in personalized medicine
- Systems Biology in Cancer
- How to write a research paper
With a total of 23 participants and 15 speakers, the ReTuBi Summer School was an excellent opportunity to PhD students and Postdcs researchers to get new insights in the cancer and tumour biology research area.
Cell migration under confinement Workshop
From May 22 to 24, 2017, it was held the Cell migration under confinement Workshop, in Palmela, Lisbon. The main objective of the workshop was to bring together group members from the different ReTuBi consortium groups involved in research in cell migration to discuss new results and future prospective in the field and further foster collaboration.
ReTuBi Lecture - Jason Chin
On May 15 of 2017, Jason Chin, from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (United Kingdom) was the invited speaker as an expert visit for the "ReTuBi Lecture" with the talk “Reprogramming the Genetic Code”.
